my name is Miriam Elaina Castle. sometimes my friends call me Merm. I was born in San Diego, lived in Orange County for a few years, moved to Tokyo for 4.5 months when I was 14, but I have spent most of my life in Provo, Utah. I love the mountains, but I would rather live somewhere warm year-round. I am 20 years old and am currently majoring in teaching social science at Brigham Young University. My goal is to teach high world history, psychology, and/or geography. I am also exactly 5 feet tall, so yes, I know the risk of being mistaken as a high school freshman. but I love the social sciences, I love people, I love sharing what I'm passionate about, and I have 2 teenage brothers, so I know that it will be worth it.

as I mentioned earlier, I love sharing what I'm passionate about. I have lived with ADHD and anxiety for many years, and both have taught me to work hard, manage my time, be self-confident, resilient, ambitious, and have a sense of humor. if I have something to say, then I am going to say it, whether you like it or not. however, the fact that I am blunt also makes me very genuine, so everything coming from me is 100% real.

when I was an angsty 12 year old, my mom decided that I needed a healthy way to deal with my aggression, so I took up tennis. turns out, I ended up loving it and played all through high school. I still play for fun, and I cry every time Roger Federer wins a grand slam. I also really love music; I am a classically trained pianist, I participated in choir for many years, and if Bohemian Rhapsody comes on in the car, I will sing along to every word. I love to drink Diet Coke, I like my steak medium-rare, I love college basketball and football, my favorite color is red, my Myers-Briggs type is ESTJ, I enjoy movies such as Anchorman or School of Rock, I am naming my firstborn son after Freddie Mercury, I am LDS and I love it, and I am super hungry right now, so I'll just end this here.
